This may be a minor point of contention, but doesn’t Yang want to move to a German/Swiss-style public option rather than Canadian-style single-payer? I’ve written about this issue as well. In a way, this is truer to the idea of “Medicare for everyone” than transitioning to single-payer would be. Both have their advantages and disadvantages, but I was wondering if you could expand upon that a little more. I think it’s important that Democrats don’t squabble too much about how we achieve universal health care, and that people understand that the different paths forward are all major improvements over the status quo.
